The applicant will be a senior-level nursing leader with significant experience in womenï¿½s & childrenï¿½s clinical and operational services and national standards of practice. Under the direction of the VP, Clinical Operations/Chief Nursing Officer, this position will serve as the enterprise Director, Process Improvement for Womenï¿½s & Childrenï¿½s providing subject matter expertise of the clinical, operational and strategic development of the womenï¿½s & childrenï¿½s service line with an emphasis on driving improvements in the practice and operations. This position covers all activities within the perinatal area including OBED, womenï¿½s surgical services and the Neonatal ICU.
Perform on site assessments across the enterprise of related functional areas to evaluate nursing practice, staff competencies and skills, patient safety, staffing effectiveness, operational throughput, and standardization of processes and procedures.
Identifies inefficiencies of practice and process breakdown that impact cost and quality
Improvements and standardized processes implemented through creation and revision of standard work, procedures and policies as appropriate.
Provide direction and evaluation of womenï¿½s & childrenï¿½s staffing for optimal clinical effectiveness and efficient fiscal management in collaboration with labor leads
Provide direction, implementation and evaluation of quality measures, safety bundles of care, innovative practice standards within womenï¿½s & childrenï¿½s
Using Tenet patient safety event data (RCAs) and national safety standards, evaluate and plan for reduction of risk for maternal/infant mortality
Manages through facility leadership and staff, cost reduction opportunities through improvement in practices, staffing, operations
Serve as an educational resource in womenï¿½s & childrenï¿½s to include evaluating educational needs, platform, content, ongoing skill competency training
Understand regulatory compliance in womenï¿½s & childrenï¿½s services area, collaborate with the regulatory/accreditation team on evaluation of standards and appropriate mitigation of risk
Ensure standard work in the enterprise through implementation of standards and documenting the standards in the Tenet playbook.
Monitor metrics trending on regularly occurring basis and work with facility leadership to identify actions to address stalled or sub-standard performance
Up to 75% travel - as travel is required, we will run a MVR on the final candidate
Required: BSN and Masterï¿½s Degree in nursing, business, or related field
Will have 7 to 10 years management experience within womenï¿½s & childrenï¿½s services. Will have held at minimum a mid-level administrative or higher position (e.g., manager, supervisor, director, assistant director) for a minimum of 24 months. Preferred Project management experience, analytical skills including ability to manipulate and analyze data, lean training, use of Excel, PowerPoint, and presentation skills.
Certification: Preferred certifications in specialty area and advanced certification as a nurse executive.
