• To provide oversight of the nursing staff and operations for the assigned area. To ensure adequate staffing, supplies and equipment are available. To assist in providing direct nursing care to patients in the assigned area.

• Ultimately responsible for the operation of the unit on their assigned shift as it relates to coordination of clinical care delivery, staffing, and physician satisfaction.
• Assures schedules are completed & submitted in a timely manner.
• Adjusts staffing daily to meet unit and patient needs.
• Patient assignments are done fairly and in a timely manner.
• Communication with Physicians is appropriate and timely.
• Assures unit appearance is acceptable.
• Assist with patient satisfaction and quality rounds without prompting.
• Demonstrates and is viewed as a clinical expert by Physicians and staff.
• Responsible for cost targets as evidenced by meeting budget expectations.
• Responsible for staff satisfaction as measured by percent of licensed turnover.
• Responsible for employee satisfaction as evidenced by the annual employee survey.
• Responsible for patient satisfaction as demonstrated by unit PSMS scores.
• Responsible for unit staff meetings and town hall meetings with 75% of employees attending.
• Must achieve satisfactory quality scores as evidenced by scores on departmental walk-throughs and chart reviews.
• Performs management functions R/T HR activities such as employee counseling, monitoring of attendance and educational needs.
• Timely & accurate completion of employee counseling
• Does monthly monitoring of time and attendance on employees.
• Monitor and coordinate all required educational programs.
• Assures annual competencies are completed in a timely manner.
• Maintains necessary employee records.
• Accurately completes employee evaluations in a timely manner.
• Responsible for accurate shift report.
• Communicates with fellow CC�s accurate & complete information R/T patient & unit issues.
• Monitors & mentors staff concerning accuracy & completeness of shifts report.

Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Preferred: Academic degree in nursing (Bachelors or Masters degree)

Experience

Required: 1 year RN experience.

Certifications

Required: Must be currently licensed, certified or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy. CPR
