Up to $1000 Sign-On bonus for experienced Laboratory Assistant

Summary

The Laboratory Assistant performs routine technical and clerical functions. The Laboratory Assistant performs venipuncture, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; may perform CLIA waived laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

• The Lab Assistant performs specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens, labels tubes and specimen containers, collects specimens and performs simple tests under supervision.

• The Lab Assistant performs phlebotomist duties as assigned.

Education

Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Completion of phlebotomy program

Experience

Required: 1 year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program
Preferred: In addition to above, basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience preferred

Certifications

Required: Phlebotomy Certification where State law requires
Preferred: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar
