The Manager of Leave Program is responsible for the compliance, administration, and any implementation regarding enterprise-wide leave management system (i.e. All Leaves of Absence, ADA Compliance, State Sick Leave). The Manager will be responsible to ensure compliance of Leave Program are aligned to policy, local, state, and federal regulation. This individual will apply project management, process improvement, analytical, and communication skills to drive value and compliance to the organization through the management of available resources both internally, externally, and efficiencies that can be gained through technology and partnerships. The Manager will be responsible for optimizing incident management processes to better serve both internal and external clients by reducing overall compliance risk.
Responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and training to Leave team members. Develops and maintains a cross-training plan for the team to ensure continuity of services in the event of staffing changes and/or workflow spikes. This role will also ensure individual performance and development plans are created, maintained and executed to support the professional growth and learning while improving the overall productivity and efficiency of the LOA team and its global front line leadership team.
Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources leave of absences/ADA/Local/State Sick Leave functions and ensures its policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
Partner with the Payroll leaders to coordinate support center; ensure seamless customer service for escalated issues.
Partner with field HR to ensure that communications are consistent and ADA interactive processes are completed in a timely manner
Provide operational HR/LOA support to management team including assessing and making recommendations pertaining to HR/LOA administrative related-matters, including ADA accommodations and operationalizing government mandated sick leave.
Coach critical thinking and application in terms of Leaves and ADA Accommodations
Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals; recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to drive continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
Manage communications and training plan rollouts to all users and stakeholders
Responsible for department payroll tasks related to current team members
Developing and optimizing relevant workflows and maintenance and further development of KPIs to measure performance and productivity. Responsible for action plans related to KPIs when not meeting targets.
Identifying, needed technology and optimizing system functionality.
Creating applicable forms and templates, resources to continue to improve the experience of the employee during a leave of absence
Maintain and enhance Workflow Templates for different state/federal LOA work rules
Maintain system policies and procedures in conjunction with HR Compliance team
Escalation to designated backup for staff as needed
All other job related duties as it relates to the job function or as delegated by the management team
Delivers a high degree of customer service to all stakeholders
Works in a group setting and mentors subordinates
Bachelor's Degree Required
5-7 years of Leave of Absence experience Required; experience may be substituted for degree requirement upon verification.
Must possess strong written and verbal; communication skills. Be able to clearly document problem identification, progress notes and resolution. Must provide feedback to customers and manager/supervisor regarding existing issues within departmental guidelines
Strong project and change management skills with experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects from the envisioning state through to implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors and vendors
Prefer knowledge across multiple human resources disciplines including payroll, benefits, and related state and federal employment laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical and research skills required.
Exceptional expertise of HR systems including payroll and timekeeping
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
A positive, service-oriented attitude, willingness to go "above and beyond" in support of the internal clients and have the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
