The Career Enhancement Program RN role serves to enhance the delivery of quality nursing care through the use of evidence based nursing practice. Responsible for all aspects of the registered nurse position and demonstrate clinical expertise through use of the nursing process in assessing, planning, intervening, and evaluating care for patients to achieve the best clinical outcome. Serves as the primary support for new staff and collaborates with the Clinical Nurse Educator in meeting the educational needs of the staff.
Performs all aspects of the Clinic Registered Nurse position description.
Serves as a primary support for staff and assists the Clinical Nurse Educator in meeting the educational needs of the staff.
Serves as unit trainer in collaboration with others.
Assists with unit- based competencies and skills assessments.
Provides small group in-services, information, and educational displays on the unit.
Collaborates in the development of innovative education materials for staff to support own in-services or that of the Clinical Nurse Educator.
Serves as a resource to patients, families and healthcare team.
Develops and implements performance improvement tools and audits with staff and assists in tracking compliance and outcomes.
Serves as a resource and coach for staff on the unit and collaborates with leadership on orientation goals and checklists.
Provides leadership, guidance, and support for staff members to affect positive patient outcomes.
Identifies developmental needs for staff and communicates to the Clinical Nurse Educator.
Fosters interdisciplinary collaboration to provide optimal patient outcomes.
Engages staff teamwork and cooperation by being a positive role model.
Submits necessary documentation to Clinic Nurse Supervisor of performance in the Career Enhancement Program prior to performance evaluation.

Prior experience with Pediatrics, Sedation and Critical Care is strongly preferred.
