We are excited to be recruiting a Senior Writer, Physician Communications who is passionate about combining clinical fluency with communications expertise at one of the nations leading cancer centers. The incumbent will be a key member of the Editorial & Content team, helping to drive the strategic department goals and aligning physician-facing messaging across the organization.
Reporting to our Senior Director, Physician Communications, you will:
Research, write, gather, organize, and edit content on behalf of the Chairs of key Departments.
Partner with Chairs of the Departments and Division Heads/Vice Chairs to understand strategic priorities, relevant information and updates, and current initiatives, and develop/adapt messaging tailored to various clinical audiences and intended for various communications channels.
In addition to clinical communications and newsletters, you may write speeches and remarks, talking points for media appearances and events, social media postings, decks and presentations, and other content.
Implement a regular cadence, format, and content-planning process for internal updates to key Departments and develop an overall calendar for physician-facing content.
Understand content analytics and data to help measure and report on content efficiency.
7-10 years of experience in medical or science writing, ideally with experience in-house at healthcare, research, or life sciences institutions; and/or in media.
Experience with executive communications; writing in support of and on behalf of executive-level leadership preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Presentation skills to communicate complex subject matter in clear, understandable terms.
A collaborative spirit, solution-oriented approach, and able to communicate with multiple partners.
The ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and deliver work on within timelines.
