VA Illiana Health Care Center is looking for a Medical Director for our Urgent Care Clinic in Danville, IL. Responsible for clinical oversight and supervision of emergent and urgent care treatment modalities, patient assessment, care planning and coordination with assistance from staff members in other clinical and support services provide a full range of medical services to patients. The Medical Director for UCC provides direct supervision for Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners. Ensures coverage for UCC, currently open seven days a week, 8:00am - 3:30pm, closed Federal Holidays. Performs all duties of a Physician when required. ** There is potential to extend hours to 12 hours, 7 days a week, and remain open on Federal Holidays. Meets Executive Career Field (ECF) and program specific monitors as outlined by Chief of Surgery and Specialty Medicine/Chief of Staff/ Director. Uses national guidelines when available to develop policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure adequate and comprehensive services and communicates these to all staff in the UCC. Is intimately familiar and knowledgeable with Emergency Department Integrated Software (EDIS). Continuously monitors EDIS compliance, resolves discrepancies and fall-outs. Leads the development of new programs such as Tele-Urgent Care, Geriatrics Urgent Care, Whole Health Urgent Care, and expansion of urgent care services to community based outpatient clinics. Coordinates and supervises quality assurance activities for clinical staff. Formulates training plans for assigned employees including orientation of new employees. May provide back up coverage to the hospitalist service Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm
