SUMMARY:

Responsible to work in a team setting to provide care to patients in the Electrophysiology Laboratories. Assist the EP Physicians during all EP procedures, EP studies, Cardioversions, Device Implants, Ablations, etc. Responsibilities 

Essential Functions: The percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%. Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties: Operate EP recording systems. Demonstrate knowledge of intra-cardiac electrograms and understand the different arrhytmias on 12 lead ECG as well as basic intra-cardiac electrograms. Demonstrate basic hemodynamic knowledge and knowledge of placing 12 lead as well as 3-D mapping electrodes on patients. Scrub and assist physicians with devices and EP studies. Close pacemaker and ICD pockets, maintaining proper sterile techniques. Perform circulating role during ablations and devices. Maintain knowledge on proper defibrillatoin techniques. Operatate Stockert and Maestro Radiofrequency generators, Cryo generators and Stockert cool flow pump. Operate digital imaging system equipment. Set up trays for EP studies, ablations, and devices, maintaining proper sterile technique. Perform daily QI on equipment such as angiography and fluorscopy. Accurately document charging of supplies and procedures including all required regulatory documentation of implants (i.e. pacemakers, ICD's and leads). 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Either: (A) Graduate of an EP Program, or (B) Graduate of a CVT Program plus 1 year of EP lab experience, or (C) Graduate of a CVT program plus 2 years of invasive cardiology experience required. 

Must obtain RCES certification within 18 months from date of hire. 

Must obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications within 3 months from date of hire.
