Job SummaryPerforms a variety of patient care duties and tasks to support the work of the nursing staff in the hemodialysis unit and to facilitate delivery of care to patients. Provides direct physical and emotional care to patients in the hemodialysis unit.Job DutiesAdministers cardiopulmonary resuscitation until other personnel arrive.Performs system and equipment checks and maintenance as assigned.Prepares patient for dialysis by obtaining pre-dialysis vital signs and weights.Sets up, primes, and tests dialysis machines.Observes and monitors patients for change in status and reports to charge nurse.Initiates hemodialysis via fistula or graft.Discontinues hemodialysis treatments and cleans machine per pol
